Few things make our team happier than seeing what you make with our worlds: the Pack and the Clowder, the RiftBleed Earths, and everything in between. Our games, characters, art, music, logos and other intellectual property (together, “Rad Games IP”) belong to IDFire Technologies Inc. and its affiliates, so we wrote this policy to give you clear, generous permission to create with them.

“Fan Content” means personal, non-commercial creations based on Rad Games IP that you share outside our Services, such as fan art, screenshots, gameplay videos, streams, guides, wikis, fan fiction, cosplay, music covers and fan sites.

The short version
  • Fan art, videos, streams, guides, cosplay and fan sites are welcome.
  • You can earn money from ads, sponsorships and tips on videos and streams. You can’t sell merchandise or products that use our IP.
  • Keep it appropriate for the game’s audience — Puppies vs. Kittens is for all ages.
  • Add a short disclaimer, and don’t make it look official.
  • Fan games and AI models trained on our art need our written permission.

This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what governs.

1.General rules

You may create and share Fan Content as long as you follow every rule in this policy:

  1. Use content you got legitimately. This policy covers Rad Games IP you access under our Terms of Service or another agreement with us, such as by playing our games or visiting our websites.
  2. Keep it non-commercial, except as Section 2 allows.
  3. Match the audience. Keep Fan Content suitable for the people who play the game it’s based on. Puppies vs. Kittens is played by kids and families, so Fan Content based on it must be suitable for all ages. Content based on RiftBleed may reflect that series’ mature rating, but nothing based on any of our games may be sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, defamatory or unlawful, or put our characters in content that sexualizes minors.
  4. Don’t make it look official. Don’t present Fan Content as an official Rad Games, Janus Engine or IDFire product, or suggest that we sponsor or endorse you. Fan sites must make clear they are unofficial.
  5. Don’t harm the brands. Don’t use Rad Games IP in a way that disparages our games, our community or our company, or that damages their reputation.
  6. No cheats or scams. Don’t link to or promote cheats, hacks, exploits, account selling, or “free currency” scams.
  7. Respect others’ rights. Fan Content must not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
  8. Include the disclaimer in Section 3.

We may change this policy by posting an update here. If an update means existing Fan Content no longer complies, please update it.

2.Making money

Fan Content is generally non-commercial. We do, however, want creators to be able to support their work, so you may:

  • earn advertising revenue on videos and streams (for example, on YouTube, Twitch or TikTok);
  • accept tips, donations, channel memberships and platform subscriptions, as long as viewers don’t need to pay to see Fan Content made with our IP; and
  • accept sponsorships for your channel, as long as the sponsor isn’t presented as connected to our games.

You may not sell physical or digital goods that use Rad Games IP (such as prints, stickers, plush, apparel, 3D-print files, sticker packs or game assets), crowdfund projects based on it, or use it in paid advertising for another product, without our written license.

3.Required disclaimer

Place this notice on or near your Fan Content (for example, in a video description, on the page that shows your art, or in a fan site’s footer):

This is unofficial fan content. Puppies vs. Kittens, RiftBleed and related names, characters and artwork are trademarks and copyrighted works of IDFire Technologies Inc. and its affiliates. Not approved or endorsed by Rad Games or IDFire Technologies Inc.

4.Using our names and logos

Our game titles, studio and engine names, character names and logos (“Marks”) help players know what’s official. When Fan Content uses them:

  • use Marks only to refer to our games and products, not as the name or brand of your channel, site, team or product;
  • don’t alter, animate, recolor or combine our logos with other designs, or create a new logo from them;
  • write titles exactly as we do: for example, “Puppies vs. Kittens - Hide & Squeak”, with the ampersand;
  • don’t register domain names, social handles or app names that are confusingly similar to ours; and
  • don’t use Marks in a way that suggests a partnership or endorsement.

5.AI-generated fan content

You may use AI tools to help make Fan Content, as long as the result follows this policy. In addition:

  • label AI-generated or AI-assisted fan art as such, and never present it as official art from our team;
  • don’t use Rad Games IP to train, fine-tune or create custom models, style presets or LoRAs, or share datasets made from our art, audio or characters; and
  • don’t create realistic images, voices or videos of our staff, voice actors or other real people.

6.Fan games and mods

Fan-made games using our characters, worlds or assets — including games made with Janus Studio and published to the Janus Arcade — are not covered by this policy and need our written permission. Where one of our games offers official mod or creator tools, the terms of those tools govern what you can make with them.

7.Please don’t send us your ideas

We love your enthusiasm, but please don’t send us unsolicited Fan Content, story ideas or game designs. To avoid any misunderstanding about where our ideas come from, we don’t review them, and we delete them unread.

8.Enforcement

This permission is a limited, revocable license. We may ask you to change or remove Fan Content that doesn’t follow this policy, or withdraw permission for any Fan Content, and we may take legal action to protect our rights where necessary. Our Terms of Service still apply to your use of our games and Services.
